Christianity gives you....ummm...ummm....exactly what?
by Terry inchristianity:.
you get struck on the cheek and you pony up for the other slap.. you pray for the enemy who wants you face down in the mud with his heel on your neck.. you get treated like pond scum but you force a smile and forgive.. .

Another solution for reducing USA firearm homicide rate
by besty inbeen thinking about this for a while now.
in the absence of strong political leadership to enact stricter gun regulation it is clear that the people must excercise their 2a rights and bear arms.. think about the facts.. 9000 firearm homicides a year in the usa.
only 600 of those were by us - the good guys - law enforcement + justifiable action by joe sixpack.

Without those numbers, your premise could be faulty and you wouldn't know it.
He knows but doesn't care. It fits his agenda. Remember, just the sight of a gun scares some people.
I don't have a number, but, I've delt with thousands of people (good guys and bad guys) with guns everyday I haven't lost yet.

Is the Jehovah's Witness religion Christian?
by Zagor Almanah inis the jehovah's witness religion christian?the answer to the question is, "no.
it is not christian.
" like all non-christian cults, the jehovah's witness organization distorts the essential doctrines of christianity.

How can you call yourself "Christian" if you outright refuse to worship the Christ?

Do Witnesses Ever Talk About Their Living Forever And Never Dying?
by minimus inmy 86 year old mother stopped believing she was going into paradise earth without dying first, about 10 years ago.
my aunt used to think she was going to make it through the great tribulation.
even a week before she died, she clung on to this fairy tale.. do you think jws believe they will never die at all and will, in their lifetime, be on a paradise earth to live forever?.

Q for all Christians (not just JW) about the ransom.
by Anony Mous inso this is the basic logical flaw in christianity i believe.
a brother identified it from the stage for me in a talk.
we all agree (as christians and jw's) that the ransom was necessary because adam lost his perfection and everlasting life.. this is a paraphrase from the talk:.

Dog: Were you ever a JW and how did you come to see that Jesus is Jehovah in the flesh?
NO. I was never a JW. I have some JW friends and many XJW friends. The Holy Spirit through God's word clearly reveals Jesus is Jehovah to me.

Here are some examples of the "Work of God" you can look in a concordence yourself
Psa 64:9 Then all men will fear, And they will declare the work of God, And will consider what He has done.
Ecc 7:13 Consider the work of God, For who is able to straighten what He has bent?
Ecc 8:16 When I gave my heart to know wisdom and to see the task which has been done on the earth (even though one should never sleep day or night), Ecc 8:17 and I saw every work of God, I concluded that man cannot discover the work which has been done under the sun. Even though man should seek laboriously, he will not discover; and though the wise man should say, "I know," he cannot discover.
No, the work of God is what Jesus said it was at John 6:29, and many of the Jews. to whom Jesus preached had no desire to do this. Anyone that does the work of God is someone that 'exercises faith in him whom Jehovah sent forth' is, in fact, doing the work of God. You're mistaken as to the reason Jesus referred to exercising faith in the ransom as "the work of God." The provision of the ransom provided by Jehovah was Jehovah's part; our exercising faith in it is man's part.
Sorry, but my bible says otherwise and that Faith/belief is a gift/work that God does for us. I've quoted enough scripture for you to see that.

I simply want to know if I am debating Calvinism with a fellow believer or if the faith issue is moot in light of a denial of the Deity of Christ (salvific issue).
Maybe you should look before you leap and ask before you criticize. I never denied the Deity of Christ. You are the one who started debating with me on this thread, telling everyone about the dangers of calvinism. I never mentioned Calvin, I simply quoted scriptures, that teaches ME that faith is a gift from God. If you would stop and think about it for a moment, who but a Christian would believe that faith is a gift from God?
Identifying beliefs with names or labels facilitates communication/understanding and is not name calling.
Oh really, maybe you should get to know a little more about people before you "label" them, because I don't see the difference.
We can agree to disagree, but it would help to know what the differences/similarities are.
Yes, we can disagree even without the name calling and labeling.

In order to do "the work of God," we must "exercise faith" in Jesus, who God sent forth. To put this in another way, we must put our confidence in what Jesus' name represents by doing godly works of faith that demonstrate the confidence we have in the saving power of Jesus' ransom sacrifice by living up to what our baptism means.
That's the same type of thinking the Jews had in verse 28 of ch. 6.
God does the work of God, not people, that's why it's called the "work of GOD". People do the work of men.

Dog, do you affirm or deny the Deity of Christ/Trinity?
You must have a very short memory.
I don't even know what kind of religious creature I am debating.
I can see that. What a shame.
I'll bet you would like to put me in a box. I've noticed you like to call people names.
